Good question. They are very similar but have their differences. I know the
oil filters and oil cooler hookup are completely different on the two. I
don't know about bolt holes for the engine mounts. Wiring harness may be a
bit different too. I'm sure somebody that's really crafty could pull it off.
I'd rather find a 700 engine though, or find a running 700 bike for cheap
and use your uncle's for spare parts.
