I just completed a car trip with my family - now I have to go bake on the bike. Starting in Seattle, going up through Whistler and winding all over Canada dropping into Idaho and down to Bend Or. This is motorcycle touring country. I think the Bike to car ratio was about 1 bike for every 2 cars.
The amazing thing was the number of Nighthawks and CD900's i saw on the road. Lots of Hogs, Goldwing's and sport bikes, but if it was an older bike it seamed to always be a Nighthawk or CB900. I met one guy riding a Honda 1978 400Twin with 980km (600 miles?) on it. This bike looked like it just came off the production line. The number of 80's 700's, 650's and 750's was crazy. We stopped for the night in a small hotel in Idaho and bikes of people staying in the hotel were: 1982 650 (Just like mine) Nighthawk 700's 1996 Nighthawk 750 (Just like mine only blue) Honda ST1300 - very nice bike - owner upgraded from the ST1100 and a 84's 750 nighthawk before that Huge BMW touring thing that the guy didn't like and was going to sell to get a Honda again....
