Hello Stumpi, Bikebandit didn't have a schematic of the headlight assembly. However, www. ronnie'smailorder.com has all the schematics for the 1983 CB450SC and the part I need is called the headlight rim. Its the part that holds the headlight into the headlight assembly. There are only 2 major parts, so I'm sure we are talking about the same thing. The part that houses the actual headlamp is the headlight case. The chrome case on my bike is pitted some but mostly around the back where it isn't that noticable. The rim is badly scratched and has a major dent in it. So, if I have to, I could buy the whole assembly but I really only need the rim.
I could also use both muffler heat shields that fit under the foot pegs. Mine are banged up pretty bad and Honda has discontinued those too. I bought the bike in about 5 minutes because it was a good deal and I liked the look right away. I'm a bit impulsive. So, once I got it home I realized that what wasn't filthy was a bit rusty and I have had lots of fun cleaning and replacing parts. It had been laid down at least once. Either that or was driven along a cement wall a few times. This is actually my first bike project. Done a car or two in my time but never a bike. First thing that became obvious was that the previous owner didn't own metric tools and it looks like the bike was maintained with a pair of vise-grips. :-) So, can you help me out with the head light? I would gladly buy the whole assembly if it was pristine.
