We had an 8.2 on Guam a few years back - that shook and the noise was
deafening - from underground. Then we had a 7.5 - that was loud as
well. We traded back and forth between earthquakes and typhoons.
Last typhoon was 200 mph winds - shook our solid concrete house
without stopping for 9 hours and then the clean up began. When I weas
growing up in New Zealand I always thought the pictures hanging
crooked on the walls were because mum's eye sight wasn't so good. It
was because of the earthquakes, Graham

I just read in the news that there was a fairly intense (7.4 mag)
earthquake in New Zealand, 7 km south-east of Christchurch. I know
(at least) one group member lives there. Dennins, how is the
