Well the good news is that I can now shine a high beam on the problem....
It was a fuse.
Per the manual the 10 amp fuse will take out the
following: Turn signals - Headlight - tail light - instrument lights.
Now, far be it for me to complain, 33 model years later -
but that is a rather annoying set of components to have on the same
fuse - or am I just being annoying here?
If it were me - I think I'd separate the headlight from
the others - or maybe tie it in with the ignition - so that you aren't
going anywhere if the headlight goes.
Thoughts?
Oh - thinking of giving this one the name of Lucas - there
is a triumph / Norton reference for you :-)
