We have lots of ladies in Hawaii that are 6+ feet tall and well over
300 pounds......

Max - this is all great advice and from experience you can really
trust the folks on this group - I think it has to do with the fact
that most of us hav grey hair (46 - puchased my first bike at 43).
  A friend is looking for his first bike rigt now.  I asked him how
long he would ride before he puts his wife or kid on the back.  His
response was about 6 months.  Wrong - I told him about 5,000 miles.
Much like any vehicle, it's about how many miles you've ridden not how
long you've had your license.

As someone who has been down - take it slow and give youself lots of
space.  Honks hurt a lot less then the pavement.....
