Hey Kevin, I thought I would address the issue of posting pictures. Your solution of using an online service is a good one, but if you want to embed your photos in your message just post to the group directly from your Gmail account. (You will need to have the photo embedding feature turned on in Gmail Labs. That adds an icon to the ribbon in your compose window and makes it very easy to embed pics.)
Then address your message to Nighthawk_lovers@google groups.com. I didn't check whether or not you're receiving group posts at your Gmail address or whether you just reading them on the Google groups site, but if the latter, you can additionally adjust your email settings to receive messages directly by email so that you won't have to constantly log into the group.
