The '84 GL1100 of last year I found in a barn. The owner said the front wheel
was bent and the charging system was bad. My son and I went out and looked at
it. It was covered in dust but looked good otherwise. I had David push down
on the back end while I spun the front wheel - no bend in it. The
starter/solenoid just clicked when we hooked the bike up to a battery. Anyway
I paid $500 for it, brought it home, put air in the tires, replaced the starter
motor and battery and after about 5 minutes of winding away and another 5
minutes of smoke, the bike ran great. No bent front wheel and the charging
system was fine. As much as I wanted to keep and sell the bike I let a friend
have it on condition that if he ever was to sell it I was to get it back. He
agreed. It looked pristine once I cleaned it up. It was an Interstate I think.
Want to see a pic of my Limited Edition? Can I post it on this thread? Graham
