Struck up a conversation with the gas man the other day, and he said he uses a heat gun to restore the color to faded black plastic around the wheel wells of his car. Says it's just like spray painting. Made me wonder if that was better than spray painting faded inner fenders, etc. on bikes. Anybody tried it on an old Honda? Does it work? I just took off the clutch cover off a bike and took rubbing compound and then polishing compound to the faded black paint. Together with some Mothers on the unpainted part, it came out looking much, much better. Anyway, can anybody give me a yea or nay on the heat gun before I trot down to Harbor Freight and get one? Thanks.
