Officially? Umm air leak tester? It's just a stetoscope with some tubing and a piece of pipe. I had a leak when I reinstalled my pipes, and over tightening or stripping the aluminum heads is not a good idea. Brutal strength is not always the answer. Anyway a friend suggested this tool and it worked great. I was able to pinpoint the leak at the correct pipe. I checked all of them anyway and one was just off a little bit. I just loosened the bolts moved the pipe a little and re tightened it. I've had the muffler sealant for years and I just put a little on to hold the seals in place.
