I think we went all through this last year, but can I bring up the topic of long trips again for a second? I'm getting ready to take my '96 NH750 on a trip from Atlanta to San Francisco and back. Bike currently has just under 30K miles.
This is what I'm doing as prep. New back tire (front should be fine), new chain and sprockets (17T in front), new air filter, new plugs (NGK), carb sync, oil and filter change, throttle lock and cramp buster, National Cycle Plexifairing 3, GPS knob for handlebars, Fix-a-Flat aerosol, tire gauge. Guy I'm going with is loaning me a set of fabric throwover saddlebags, and I'll bungee my "special samsonite hard case" on the back luggage rack.Thinking about a gel pad for the seat, but the bike is already tall for me. Of course I'll take some chain lube and some basic tools. Something else I should be thinking about?
