Do you have a spark checker? If you are dropping spark it will make a plug go black. Also who cleaned the carbs? Possibly a jet got swapped, or even left out. I've seen carbs with the pilot and main jets swapped, because they were both the round type. When you say it was professionally tuned, did they use a dyno? If so did you get the report? It should show exhaust gas analysis metrics.
