Fessing up here. In my quest to have a second bike available on an opposite coast or Mexico, I was interested in the mighty prowess of the Nighthawk. The newer CB1100 version came to mind. I liked the idea of a rear disc brake and pinged their forum for information before buying. One owner, who lives close by to me was gracious enough to let me try out his bike. My feelings were that it was a huge engine for a commuter and I wasn't exactly thrilled with the ergonomics. Easy enough fix with a larger front sprocket, but even used = $$$$. When I found a great price on a 2003 NH 750 with low miles, the rest is history.
Now when you write 'other' forum, I also participate in the Suzuki DR section. The volume of good information has been a blessing. The modifications made economical and practical sense. Allowed me to explore Mexico this fall on a solo expedition from Chicago. I just want the same for my Honda. My goal for this riding year is to put some decent miles on it. I would say more, but do not want to jinx it. Proof is in the pudding as they tend to say. I was informed of a yearly meet in the region of the Tail by a fellow NH DR rider.
