250 CC Tour!

It was not that long ago that a 250 was a nice midsize bike
With a 650 being enormous
And I sure the ride, reliability and efficiency being much better today

Then back then

Hi Paul,

Could you please tell me where you purchased your sissy bar/backrest? I'm
having a hard time finding one for my 2000 Nighthawk 250. I've tried Google but
no luck. Thank you.  - Rob

(incidentally, I owned a late 90's 750 and it was my favorite bike of all time;
I'm teaching my wife to ride the 250, then might get another 750 for me)

Wow!! Coast to coast on a 250? I guess my first question would be how many
trips has he already taken on the 250?

I installed a sissy bar and backrest on my 250 years ago. (I no longer have the
bike.) The one I installed did NOT have a rack.

Is that the kind of setup you'e looking for?

Hi all!

My husband and I are both owners of a couple of Nighthawk 250s. His is a 2008.

I'm helping him plan a CC trip from San Francisco, Ca to Columbus, Ohio this
spring, solo. Since he hasn't done this before, we're trying our best to
prepare him well for his journey.

The Nighthawk isn't an easy bike to load gear on, from what I can tell. I
admittedly have limited experience, but it seems a bit more challenging, yet
possible. I've seen where people have bought Hondaline backrests that were
designed for
the Honda VLX600 Shadow, but am concerned about it being a good fit. There
don't seem to be a lot of people talking about what backrests/sissy bars they
installed on the 250.

Does anyone have experience putting a backrest/sissy bar on the Nighthawk 250?
Also, aside from having his bike well serviced before the journey, if anyone
has any tips, I love hearing about the experiences of others!

Rubber side down!

Sympa
