I just went through this with a 1983 650 that I bought this past May. It had a rusted aftermarket 4-into-1 exhaust. I ended up getting a used stock exhaust in fair condition off ebay. Used exhausts in good condition seem very hard to come by. New stock exhausts are impossible to find. Your best bet might be an aftermarket 4-into-1 system. MAC makes them.
If you go with the stock exhaust, some of the hardware is difficult to find if you don't already have it.
