I have had good experiences with POR 15 gas tank repair kit. https://www.por15.com/POR-15-Motorcycle-Fuel-Tank-Repair-Kit I have used it on my 86 NHS tank and an 81 Fiat Spider gas tank. Its been over 10 years for both an no issues. I recommend the kit as it comes with heavy duty degreaser, metal prep and the tank seal. The kit comes with patch material, I have not had the need to use it so I can not confirm it works.
