A question about cheap home internegging.

In an article by Liang-Wu Cai (can't find his address at present,
maybe at MIT?) he had best success using N90s (with MB-26 for
multiple exposure) + SB-26 (on the SC-17 cable, positioned a foot
behind the slide) copying slides to more or less any brand print film
by using a pre-flash of -5EV and the slide exposure of +3EV.

I intend trying the same with N8008s + SB-26 etc. The SB-26 set
to TTL, the N8008s set to manual (1/250 @ f/8) and manipulate the
+/- EV by setting the camera (for 100 film) to 3200 ISO for the first
pre-flash of a blank diffuser without the slide, and then set the
camera to 12 ISO for the second exposure of the slide. Setting the
film ISO on the camera hopefully affects the TTL operation of the
flash. Oh yes, and a 105mm macro lens at 1:1.

Question 1. Does anyone have the same experience as the original
author and have to use +3EV (!?!) for the slide exposure?

Question 2. Does my method sound OK?

I've started building the jig to do it so can't report results for a few
days yet, maybe some prior feedback might alter my design and
save a film or two of experiments. (I said cheap). :-)

Thanks and regards................Guy Parsons
