Nikon has landed itself a place in history by being chosen as one of the
world's top 65 'Super-brands,'
Nikon has made it into the prestige publication of the same name along side
brands such as McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Heinz and Virgin. No other
photographic company appears.

Nikon's 20% share of the total photo market and 25% share of the SLR market
impressed the Council. So too did the fact that the company has scored a
number of worldwide firsts, including inventing the first autofocus SLR and
the first fish-eye lens.
