Take a look at the Tokina 28-70mm f.2.6-2.8. I bought one a few months ago, and have been more than pleased with the results! The optics are very good even when compared with some of my primary lens. The only things I could complain about is a slightly awkward manual focus clutch. The construction throughout is excellent. I think Tokina has a $30 rebate in effect until the end of January. Kevin
