Nikon:
My N90S recently stopped automatically detecting my film's ISO readings.
Now I have to set it manually. Have I inadvertently turned off this
option?

I did this myself on a recent trip to France. Turns out when I changed
the ISO setting for a roll of Velvia from 50 to 40, I also turned off the
ISO detection. Keep futzing with the command dial with your other hand
pushing down the ISO button until the DX shows up on the LCD screen.
