Haven't been to India, but in most places
all you have to do is fill out a form with
the serial numbers for everything, and then
show them the equipment when you leave to
prove you didn't sell it there. In areas
that get a lot of tourists, they usually
don't even bother with the paperwork for a
        traveler with a tourist visa.

Go to the US customs office BEFORE you leave
the US and register your equipment with there.
When you return to the US, just show the agent
        your copy of the papers.

They probably won't even notice the cameras
unless you're carrying a lot of stuff, but US
customs varies from port to port. In Atlanta
they're really paranoid. In Miami if you look
like a tourist, you could just saunter through
with a nuke in your suitcase without any problems.
