I photographed Bjorn Borg and John Lloyd (remember them?) at a senior Pro
Tennis tournament using the 400 f/2.8 AFS and the 1.4x converter. I was VERY
impressed with the lens and the F5. Almost no loss of focusing speed with the
1.4x, virtually no hunting either. The combination was perfect for shooting
tennis and I have ROLLS of sharp frames and peak action. The only complaint
that I have is battery drain. After reloading fresh batteries (alkalines,
cheap ones) in the pack on Sunday, they were at half mast on Tuesday, most
likely due to the large number of rolls shot (20?) and pushing the AF motor.
You can see the results at www.naplesnews.com. for at least the rest of
Wednesday. You may have to do a search after Wednesday to see the images.
There are two of them. Go to the story tittle "Borg Tops Lloyd in long tie
breaker" and click. It's on the front page. Enjoy.
