Mathias, I have a 105/f4 Micro-Nikkor which has reproduction ratios engraved
on the barrell, right down to 1:1. However, the lens will only do this with
it's dedicated PK ring; but Nikon marked it anyway, figuring that if you
have the PK ring, you'll be able to read of the repro ratio from the barrel
and adjust your exposure accordingly. Your lens sounds the same.
