Butch, I have the lens and love it. Granted, I am only an amateur and my subjects tend to be two very cute boys, making it hard to make mistakes. I find the lens crisp, easy to handle in auto or manual modes. I have not enlarged anything yet, so I can't comment on exactly how sharp. As for price, it runs in the low to mid $300s depending on US or International warranty. Michael
