Hello dear members of the list!
Shoping for film scaner I ended up buing a CoolScan III (LS30).
So far I have 2 problems:
1). I have a problem with skin tones on the pictures scaned
from Elite II slides. The smooth color areas on the film
do not have a smooth color distribution on the scan. Like
cheeks tend to become very highligthted. I heard the
Coolscans have such problem with all Kodachromes.
IS THAT RIGHT?
2). The scanner is VERY slow. For scan with half resolution
(1350 dpi) its take 2.5 minutes to scan one full frame
with ICE technology and 1.75 minutes without ICE.
The time to full resolution scan (2700 dpi) is about 7
minute with ICE. Isn't it TOO MUCH?
If anybody have CoolScan could you tell us about your
first hand expirience, please.
