Rolland, As to your questions about who really needs an AF-S 28-70 -- one word: hockey! A friend on staff at the paper I work at swears by this lens for shooting hockey and he won't shoot with anything else. As for the rest of us, I have been waiting for the AF-S version since switching back and I'm going to buy it as soon as my wallet allows. The difference for me is the smoothness of the autofocus when I need to use it. Sure, I could buy the 35-70 (I used to use one quite a bit) but the 28-70 is just a much better lens (I'm basing this on the design and use of the Canon). I guess the difference comes down to something like this: would you rather have a hammer or a pneumatic nail gun? Both do the same thing but one can do it much faster and with less stress and strain. just my .02, ________________________________________________________________________________ Bob Croslin Staff Photojournalist, The Tampa Tribune [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home1.gte.net/bcroslin/index.html
