I'm not an expert on Metz flashes, but I have a Metz 32CT-4 that I used for
several years on my FE, F601 and my F90X and it worked very well. I now
have a SB-26 that I use exclusively with the F90X and I use the Metz on the
FE and F601. The flash works really well on the F601 because all the flash
features are built into the F601 body. I believe the module is an SC3000. I
could check this evening when I get home tonight. I was very lucky when I
bought the flash from a friend, it had no manual for it (typical for him
but that's another story), I contacted the Candian distributor for Metz and
they were able to send me a manual for both the flash and the Nikon module.
As a side bar, I did use a Metz 45 (not sure exactly which model) on my
F90X for a photo shoot for an Architectural Magazine and it worked very
well. The photos all appeared in a magazine and looked good.
