Hi John, I had a similar problem on a 2nd hand FE2 I bought. It was solved by having the light seals replaced around the film takeup spool. As the FG is a fairly old model they may have deteriorated to the extend where your light tight box isn't light tight anymore. Try having the seals replaced and try a roll of film. Best, Eric
