Hi Marc,

Isn't your 50-135 tack sharp?  Mine is after much use by the first
owner and now me.  It's solid and well built.  The glass is superb. 
It's a little heavy but I kind of like that feel.  My understanding is
that the 75-150 Series E is fine optically, but Nikon made some
structural compromises to make it more affordable when the E series was
in vogue.  Had I found a used E in very good condition at a good price I
probably would have bought it and been perfectly satisfied as I am very
careful with my equipment.  However I paid a bit more for the 50-135 3.5
AIS.  I find it a truly remarkable example of a MF Zoom at its best, my
one and only zoom by the way..
