LIST NEEDS A HOME

>>Because the web has become a lot more popular since this Digest started,

I like the list as it is. I would even send a few bucks to help with
finances if it got to that point, it is worth it to me. Or Canon can
advertise here and we can all chuckle at that, haha.

HOW GOOD IS GOOD

>So how good is good? Nikon once boasted of the F5's
>CPUs, three 16-bit, one 8 bit, one 4 bit. Now the
>Canon EOS 3 has three CPUs inluding a 32 bit 24.576Mhz
>RISC microcomputer, what does the F100 have?
>Hopefully Nikon responds.

My wife has a Pentium II 266 computer networked to my 333. My 333 strains
at the images that I scan and edit. It is being pushed even with all the
ram it can handle. My wife uses her 266 to write letters, send e-mail and
play Jezzball. It's not a matter if good, it is a matter of sufficient
power for your needs. My 333 is no better than her 266when it comes to
e-mail and jezzball, but only when scanning and editing.

Ask yourself if you push your cameras to the limit thus far, shooting
moving subjects at 200mph at 8fps going from dark to light to dark again.
How much do you test your camera and lens? Do you enlarge stuff enough to
justify the APO, ED, LD, etc. glass being used on a regular basis, or would
a 70-210/5.6 work for you just fine? Canon can have my 333 in it but if it
does not have a removeable viewfinder I cannot use it. Canon can have my
333 and my wife's 266 in it but if it cannot physically handle duty along
side an M-16 I cannot use it.

Don't judge a camera on the brain only, but sometimes its brawn. I'd
rather be the brain anyday. I use aperture priority, spot metering and
center focus spot on 99% of my pics. Most of my camera's brain is wasted I
suppose, but that's okay. I have what I need.
