I was just wondering how everyone feels about the 400 AFS. From what I have read, it
seems to be one of the greatest lenses ever.

But, is the $3,000 more than its 300mm sister worth it. Now, I realize that you gain
100mm in focal length, but if one was going to buy along lens, is it really worth it?
I am really looking for some insight here.

Also, I am aware that the E series teleconverters are compatible with the long AFS
lenses. Any comments on how well they work on the 300/400 AFS lenses. AF Speed?
Sharpness? Overall quality?

Moreover, have their been any rumors of a new AFS only series of teles from Nikon. I
would hate to buy an TC14E and then see a better, fast TC14AFS hit the market.

Anyone that can shed some light on these topics, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanx.
