Fellow Nikoneers:

For those of you who read this list and are contemplating purchasing a new Nikon AF,
check the Nikon USA web site. I just saw today a decent rebate program for several of
their cameras. $250 for the F5, $75 for the N90s, $25 for the N70 and N70QD, and
several others.

My main question is is the $700-$800 price difference between the F5 and the F100
worth the difference? Both cameras appear to have almost the same features sans a few
more for the F5, at least reading the specs seem similar. F100s seem to be going for
$1200 or so, while the F5s are much closer to $2,000. I've got an F3 (model before
the high eyepoint came out) and after 15 years I still haven't used or even had a need
for all the accessories and whizz-bangs available for it. No flames please, just
trying to get an honest assessment of the two camera models.

I'm going to the Nikon School this weekend in Dallas for the second time since the
mid-1980s and hope to get some hands on expereince fiddling with both the F5 and F100.
