Greetings again

I've owned the Sigma 70-2002.8 HSM for nearly 5 months now, but never
really put the AF speed to the test until last Sat. With my F90X, the
AF was amazingly reliable and fast when photographing ballroom/latin
dancing. The F90X focus region was the most limiting factor - the
subject almost never coincides with the central region (the floor
usually does though)! However, since the AF was so fast,
focus-lock/recomposition delivered the results.

Compared to the Nikkor, I found that the HSM is definitely faster for
small incremental focus adjustments and I never had any hunting
problems. If you try to go from one focus extreme to the other, the
speed between the two lenses is about the same.

I could never justify the cost of the Nikkor AF-S. For anyone else
in the same position, I can strongly recommend the Sigma HSM over the
plain vanilla Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 any day. (No flames please for not
championing Nikon this time!)
Regards
Anthony
