The problem with desktop UI frameworks is that the marketshare of the desktop vanished. The expertise is mostly gone, there are many more HTML/JS/CSS programmers available and with things like Electron you can turn this mess into a "desktop" application. And if HTML doesn't cut it, iOS and Android have their own APIs for UI too. Having said that, I know there are a couple of projects that give Nim easy ways to develop desktop UIs, I'm not sure why Nim needs to be packaged with one, there is always "nimble install <project>".
