with the transliteration font Lucida Grande, but it does occur with
the Times transliteration font (Times TL) recently mentioned in a

superscript markers for footnotes and also with the unicode
transliteration symbols for the Arabic/Persian letters hamza and
'ayn, which seem only to exist in the Lucida Grande font (they are

However, converting files from NW 6.5 to NWEx 2.1.3, no matter what
font I use, causes the same problem described by Vika--the program
hangs up and NWEx must be force quit. Some files are simply
impossible to convert, apparently.

Also, in doing a bunch of search and replace for persian/arabic

spinning balls that only killing off (forced quit) of NWEx could
get me out of. Rebooting didn't help. I went looking through
the preferences to see if there was something like the old huge
number of undo's that I should change, but I couldn't find
anything. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? I
usually don't have to force-quit anything. (I didn't have
anything else running when this happened, either.)
