~This Week's Spiritual Affirmation~ This week I will practice upon integrity, personal integrity. We speak of personal integrity because it is just that --- personal. Whether anyone else perceives it within us, or notices it about us. A practice daily in integrity for self and God, less the vain expectation of admiration. We practice integrity in our life's journey daily simply because it's the right thing to do, the better of that which we hope to be. And, the better of God's wishes of that which He hopes for us to be. Webster's Dictionary, in one descriptive explanation, defines the quality of integrity as: "A state of being of sound moral principle, uprightness, honesty, and sincerity." That carries a wide margin of areas within our finite humanness of which we can never reasonably expect perfection of in even one, but can reasonably practice toward bettering ourselves in all. Aspiring to and holding ourselves to the highest levels of integrity that we may attain daily cannot help but to serve us in better alignment with God. Being more serenely aware that in all circumstance and situation encountered daily, we've acted as rightly as we knowingly could, as rightly as we possibly could. Integrity then, would seem simply the honest feeling within of being right with ourselves, thus right with God. And, herewith, a good reminder in remembrance that God doesn't expect perfect integrity of us as but finite human beings. Perfection being His domain, and infinitely perfect integrity but His.
