it works for wlan0 only. My card is in eth1 (ipw2200), and I was lazy
to update the wpa_supplicant expression in nixos, and I only have the
change in my copy.

Maybe we did not have this use case until now... we could think of a
way of handling that. I have not found any working-by-default solution
and I end up writing my scripts runnable through sudo.
