I have to admit that haskell-packages.nix scales better than I expected it to one year ago. So what's killing the idea? - it being written in Nix? - it being slow (could be improved by using C implementation) - you think its broken by design? - me having arrogant communication style ? (Sorry about that. I'll try to improve) I assume that we both enjoy coding more than packaging. quoting your previous sayings: > you: Now, if hack-nix would be able to resolve build input dependencies > automatically, then it would be very useful indeed. > > > > me: If you have time to rewrite it.. go on and do it. > > > you: Actually, that effort is well underway. > > me: How will the design look [..]? no reply Makes me think that you're not willing to spend more time on this. Its obvious that hack-nix has its flaws. I'd still call it a working prototype and with some additional love I'm pretty sure that I can get down evaluation time of leksah server to less than 3 secs. Currently the same work is done multiple times (preparing the package list). Whenever you want to give it a try sending me your pub key will be enough. The SSH Account is prepared for testing.
