i would only wish for one thing to happen once a year and i believe most of the
issues that you mention will go away, that is:

    meet nixers, spend couple of days hacking on nix* stuff and have fun.

we're geeks and most of geeks are by design not capable of nice communication.
not that we're bad people just we're quite stuburn and high on our ego. once
you meet other developer over a beer things magically change becayse you "know"
him in person. i might be also wrong and this only applies for me :)

also there is not much to do to organize such a thing. one big room with
unlimited access so we can work long into night, coffee machine and internet
that is fast enough to handle the load of everybody.

AND ... i hope to see some of your asses in augsburg next weekend.
