:-) Classic response! I don't know about any one else, but, for "Left
Brained" techno types, you would think this would be as regimented as the
most tedious trek though a 100+ line JVM stack trace! But, for whatever
reason, I find myself persuing the most assinine threads of troubleshooting
and/or R&D diversionary distraction rather than banging out time and
description entries for billing! :-) It must be ADHD related! I feel a
little better knowing it is not just me. :-)

If this ActiTime works like it is promoted, there may yet be some hope. So
far, it appears simple enough. I haven't yet tried the invoicing export to
Quickbook. That will be the real test. One thing also that I am hoping
might prove advantageous is that with Jetty (akin to Tomcat) being
web-based, I can set it up for access from anywhere and perhaps I will be
more inclined to bang stuff out into it at the instant in time from wherever
rather than collecting a stack of notes and scrambling to build it out up to
a month after the fact (as it seems I often find myself doing).

No experience with Actitime, but anything has to be better than EZStreet.

I had a bizarre dream on Thursday night. Several coworkers and I were
superheroes (sort of a Justice League thing). Our biggest problem wasn't
the Legion of Doom; it was prompt and accurate time entry.

Hello,

Can anyone comment on ActiTIME (http://www.actitime.com/)?? I have started
to play around with it as time-tracking/entering and invoicing are my LEAST
favorite (but MOST necessary) activities as a consultant. I was Googling
around and this one kept popping up. I don't think it is Open Source but it
is Jetty-based and can load on Linux or Windows and can use MySQL. The free
version includes an invoice importer into Quickbooks as well. It looks
promising.

Was wondering if anyone else here had used it and, if so, how has it worked
out for you?? Are there any other similar tools that others of you use or
know of that can also export to Quickbooks or the like?? I have been using
an Excel spreadsheet to date and, while simplistic, it is still a pain to
cut-n-paste into Quickbooks. On a whim, I searched for something more to
the point and found this. I know a lot of consultants now use SaaS-based
time and invoicing solutions, but, what I wanted is something self-hosted
and not Microsoft-dependent. Free was a big plus too!

Thanks!
