The biggest advantage of an accredited degree is that it makes it significantly easier to go on to graduate education. It may or may not help in transferring credits if you decide to get a 4 yr degree elsewhere. One of my many previous schools routinely rejected transfer credits within a major. They would count the hours as elective hours but make the student take basically the same class all over again for to meet the degree requirements.
