Tuffmail was basically a silent middle man.

I'd say that any administrator running his/her own email server should
know when then internet or power goes out. You're either on the
network or trying to check mail from the outside. When the connection
is back up, you're inbox is flooded with new messages that were all
received by tuffmail during the outage. Luckily most comcast outages
are pretty short.

I get your point about the sender wanting to know a messages was
received right away. I'd say if you are a business, especially in the
IT field, you are better off responding to emails slowly on occasion
than to bounce undeliverables back to potential clients and business
partners.

I'm a big fan of Google Apps and would never recommend putting an
email server on a comcast line in the first place, but sometimes
you've just got to do your best with what you've got.
