Yes, I need one... This trick is to suck data from one
spreadsheet/workbook onto a single sheet from another workbook/file.
Both are in Google Docs. Owned by the same userID. After it not
working and the GDocs Helps saying that it could be a
permissions problem, I even shared the source spreadsheet to myself,
and still no joy.

Problem Details.

I have two spreadsheets in Google Docs (separate spreadsheet files, in
same Google Docs account).

One is where I keep detail, and summarize to one sheet in the workbook
(or file). This workbook is called "Log Shed Expenses".

I have a second spreadsheet where I want to keep details about the
info in the other workbooks/spreadsheets.

In the second spreadsheet, in a cell (b2) I enter

  =ImportRange("Log Shed Expenses","Spent!J1:J1")

It is supposed to pick up the one number from the one cell on the other sheet.

In cell b1 I entered

  =max(ImportRange("Log Shed Expenses","Spent!A1:A100"))

and it isn't working either. The second is a date (I want the most
recent date entered).

I have tried making the whole thing with no spaces in names, changing
capitalization, all the stupid little things I could come
up with that I normally stub my toe on. Still, no joy.

It has been some time ago but I did this kind of thing 'all the time'
with M$ Excel in a former life.

If someone has some hints, input is appreciated.

... Jack
