I buy a lot of hard disks each year for Watkins, my various side jobs, and my ever-growing storage needs at home (probably 50+ per year.)
In the past couple years, Western Digital have been the worst for me, followed by Seagate. I buy mostly Samsung drives, because they are incredibly quiet and computer noise is one of my pet peeves. I've had very few failures of Samsung drives (except drives that were over 5 years old and had been running 2/47). The Hitachi drives I've bought in the past couple years have also been very reliable. My two cents...
