Okay, I knew about upstart replacing service and all the stuff
associated with /etc/init.d. I also know this is very much a work in
progress.
I did not know about upstart replacing cron:

which says that replacing cron is the plan. Okay, (per John Lennon)
"we'd all love to see the plan..."
In the mean time, I'm using cron.
