The recent holidays, vacation schedules and weather have made confirming a speaker challenging. Unless we have a last second volunteer, we'll do an open forum. We can also do lightening talks if more than one person has a brief topic or presentation. So, what techie loot did y'all score over the holidays?
Business to discuss: • Obviously, we need to do better booking speakers in advance, and having backups in case of cancellations. I'd love to have presentations and talks listed ~3 months in advance of meetings rather than ~3hrs. • Where we are on regaining our non-profit status, and what to do once we have it. • Participation in Linux Presentation Day, April/May 2017, more info here: http://www.linux-presentation-day.org/idea/ Installfest + swapmeet (those of you with new toys have old stuff to get rid of now, yes?) + coordination & participation with other local F/OSS-oriented user groups? • Bsides Nashville is April 22nd; we should participate and promote NLUG: https://bsidesnash.org/ • At one of the holiday techie parties, I was introduced to chuck Bryant of TechFed Nashville: http://techfednashville.org/ They offer some interesting services, but the pros and cons would need to be discussed before any decision was made. That's all I got for now, see y'all tonight. ~~Dru -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
