To all VU students and staff members,

If you want to earn your ham license, another opportunity is beginning this
week. I will be teaching an 8-week Technician License class for spring
semester. The next VEC exam date for Nashville is March 11, which should
give you ample time to learn the material. (Note that there will be other
exam dates later in the year, but this is the next exam scheduled for
Nashville.) Additional information about the March 11 exam is at:
http://www.arrl.org/exam_sessions/nashville-tn-37220-1304-13

The class will be held every Thursday, 5:30-6:30 p.m., from Jan. 12 (this
Thursday) to March 2 in Featheringill Hall here on campus (room number
TBA). I recommend that you purchase the ARRL Technician License manual
(3rd edition) as a study guide. You won’t need it for this Thursday’s
class, but the sooner you order it and begin reading it, the better:

https://www.amazon.com/ARRL-Ham-Radio-License-Manual/dp/1625950136/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471384407&sr=1-1&keywords=arrl+technician+class+license+manual

If you plan to attend the class, please email me at
tim.hol...@vanderbilt.edu. Feel free to forward this email to other
interested parties. Note that you do NOT have to be a VUSE student to
attend. Any interested person who wants to earn his or her amateur radio
license is welcome.

Tim, WA4LLF
