Greetings!
I finally upgraded to a router with USB ports, installed DD-WRT, and
attached a USB drive to give me some NAS functionality via Samba. I can
now save backups from 2-3 systems and have a shared folder. The Backup
and Shared folders on the NAS are mounted in the home directory of each
system.
A simple folder sync should suffice for my "backup" needs. I don't need
multiple copies from various dates, or anything elaborate.
What's the simplest way to sync folders? I assume there's no need to
install anything else on the router, but just need to sync the folders
on each machine. Do I understand that correctly? I'm currently looking
at Unison and various GUI options that use rsync but I figure you folks
would know the best/simplest solution. :-)
Thanks!
JMJ
