Hello NLUG,
I've seen it once maybe twice before where the printer stopped according to
the settings pane .. and I would get it easily restarted (can't remember
exactly) somehow.  It happened a couple weeks ago again but now I'm not
succeeding in a reliable restart.  It's (currently) a USB connected
printer, about to be ethernet connected.

This is on a computer that's used for nothing but web surfing and printing;
no other special software required, so it's easier for me to just reinstall
the OS for a fresh start than it is to spend a lot of time trying to find
out what the problem is.  I'm probably going to go with Kubuntu this time.

All that being said, I'll gladly take NLUG's expert input on what the
problem might be. .. corrupted driver?
