Ya, I just noticed that when I went to build on my Macbook. I was just starting to peer into the autoconf docs to see what could be done. Both my Mac's (10.8.0 aand 11.4.2 – I have given up trying to figure out how those correspond to kittycat names) have automake 1.10; everything else seems to be running 1.12.
